- I believe that there is non-privileged access, and that HP has
- allowed non-OS code to use the feature.

- They may live to regret this fact. HP's niche is higher-priced
- systems, which (after supercomputing) will be the first niche to feel
- market pressure for true 64 bit addressing. HP will have a
- compatibility problem which is different (and worse) from the one the
- R4000 presents.
