  11.              LECTURER POST IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

  17. Applications are invited for a Lecturer post in AI to support the
  18. expanding AI  Division  in  our  school.  The  division currently
  19. supports, a B.Sc. in AI, an M.Sc. in Cognitive  Science,  and  an
  20. M.Sc. in Knowledge Engineering. The division also includes a very
  21. active AI Research Group.
  22.  
  23. The  successful  applicant  is  expected  to  contribute  in  the
  24. teaching of the  above  courses  in  one or more of the following
  25. areas:
  26.  
  27.      a)   Distributed AI/KBS
  28.      b)   Machine Learning
  29.      c)   Scheduling
  30.      d)   AI-related languages (PROLOG, LISP etc)
  31.      e)   Human Computer Interaction
  32.      f)   Natural Language Understanding
  33.      g)   Alternative Logics (Modal, Temporal etc)
  34.      h)   Computer Vision

  36. The successful applicant is also  expected  to  contribute  in the
  37. research activities of the AI Research Group.

  39. Applicants for this post must possess:
  40.  
  41.       1)  Postgraduate qualifications (preferably at Ph.D. level)
  42.           in an AI related area.
  43.  
  44.       2)  Research experience in an AI related area.
  45.  
  46. Teaching experience will be an advantage.
  47.  
  48. The post is  temporary  for  one  year  (full-time)  and  will be
  49. reviewed at the end of the one year period.
