- I have an excellent paper by one Drew McDermott of Yale University,
- entitled "Artificial intelligence meets natural stupidity." The
- author ascribes this reputation for hype to three tendencies among AI
- researchers, namely: Wishful mnemonics, reliance on natural language
- for internal communication and representation, and the failure to
- implement real programs that truly embody the theory (or at least, the
- failure to be straightforward about it).
