- To put it another way, those CMS programs that require a fullscreen
- terminal are not looking just for the function keys, but also for the
- whole style of I/O for 3270's. That's what protocol converters are for:
- to translate between 3270-style and ASCII-style communication. The same
- problem affects "office" computers as well as "home" ones (VAXen, work
- stations, etc. -- anything that doesn't have a TCP/IP connection plus
- a working TN3270 implementation). Incidentally, I presume you already
- have software for making your Apple emulate a VT100, but, if you don't,
- that's easy to get -- Kermit is available free from Columbia.
