- Here is a multivariate, two dimensional sample space:
-
- ----------------------------------
- 11 111 1 00000 0000 |
- | 1 1 1 0 00 0 0 |
- X2 | 1 1 1 1 0 0 000 0 0 |
- | 1 111 1 111 11 00 0 000 |
- min| 11 111 000000 |
- ----------------------------------
- min X1 max
-
- I'd like references on partitioning this sample space to separate the 0's
- and 1's, e.g., what kind of partitions can be made (linear, diagonal, etc.)
- and how to test if their present in the data. Ideally, I'd like to be able
- to say something like, "There are two partitions present in the data: X2-X1
- and X1 = 6" based on stat tests.
-
- Diggle's _Statistical Analysis of Spatial Patterns_ has a little material on
- this, but I'm wondering if there is more. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
- I'll summarize if I get lots of e-mail.
-
- Mike.
