- Hello Karsten, hello SAS-L'ers,
-
- in reply to your questions, here at our University, I had wrote 2 programms
- to do this. Once is a FORTRAN program with GKS-CALLs to digitize cartesian
- X-,Y-values from a tablet, and the other program is written in PASCAL to
- add the polylines to borders of a ID variable by a table of digitized part-
- polylines. The first runs on VAX/VMS and the second on VAX/VMS and DOS-PC.
- The result can than read from SAS and be used from the proc GMAP as a map
- dataset. Any geographic area can be reproduced from artworks.
-
- At this time, I prepare a script with an co-author for publishing. Before
- the article issues, I can't offer the programms here or present here the
- algorithms.
-
- When you would like develop the same, it is a bit complex, see also Technical
- Report A-107, Creating Your Own SAS/GRAPH Map DATA Sets with a Digitizer.
-
- Our SI in Heidelberg/Germany distribute maps for Germany with East and
- West parts based of counties (Laender) and smaller districts (Kreise).
