- I just got off the phone with NOTIS to find that the Sentence Option
- does not work (when turned on) as described in the manual. When turned on,
- the user is able to find occurences of words using the 'with' operator
- that appear in the same sentence (sentence being terminated with a period).
- Well, when NOTIS switched from BRS to NotisSearch they changed how the
- sentence option functions. Now, (MDAS 1.2.1/LMS 5.0.2/MVS) you can no
- longer use the 'with' operator to search within sentences that appear
- within the same NOTIS tag. AHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
- I was also told by NOTIS that this change was discussed with either the
- MDAS or OPAC SIG and that the change was approved? Is this true???
- If so, I would be very interested in the reasons in back of this.
- To me, it just doesnt make sense. If someone could explain the change,
- it would help alot.
