  14. Files with the ARC extension on simtel20 are compressed with
  15. the older PKPAK pgm, available from our listserv, as well
  16. as from simtel20, as a self-extracting file. There isn't
  17. very much to learn there: PKUNPAK will uncompress an ARC
  18. file.

  20. Newer files on simtel20 are compressed with PKZIP, and have the
  21. ZIP extension.

  23. If you download SHEZ, you will be able to handle ARC, ZIP, LZH,
  24. ARJ, etc., files with minimum of trouble. This excellent shell
  25. takes care of all the compressing pgms. You can easily view,
  26. uncompress, delete, etc. It really is worthwhile to acquire.

  28. SHEZ74.ZIP and SHEZ74x.ZIP are the latest on <msdos.arc-lbr>.
  29. the 'x' version is a fix, so you must dowload both. The
  30. pgm is a shareware.
