- I reply on the list because this may be of general interest. From
- what I have seen so far in the beta versions (and I haven't received
- the final production version of NB 4.0 yet) NB 4.0 does *not* include
- proportional fonts. These must be supplied by the user either in the
- form of soft fonts or a cartridge.
-
- The Lingua option of NB 4.0 *does* supply proportional soft fonts, not
- only for Greek, Hebrew and Cyrillic but also for the Roman alphabet.
- These are beautiful fonts, and as an added advantage the Lingua
- printer drivers handle downloading transparently so the user never has
- to pay attention to them. I am rapidly becoming spoiled by this
- feature of the beta version (among others).
-
- If you are ordering NB 4.0 without Lingua and want to order a printer
- you will have to investigate font sources as well. If you are also
- getting Lingua, the package includes quite presentable proportional
- fonts and you may want to wait and check them out before buying
- additional soft-fonts and/or cartridges. That's my take on it, anyhow.
