- Hi,
- A disasterous error happens in my system and I wonder if anyone can suggest
- ideas as to its source.
- Once in a while, but quite often, when I try to save my work, I get the
- following error message:"No overflow: D:". Following this message, the system
- freezes, and the HD light stays on. When I reboot, instead of my original
- text file, I find a zero byte file under the same name.
- I tried to trace the causes of this disaster. Here're a few ideas which I've
- already tested:
- 1. Problems with my D: RAM disk. I changed the definition in the default.set
- file to C:. The problem persisted.
- 2. This situation might have happened after hitting the left-alt key together
- with either of the following keys: left-ctrl, question mark, enter. In some
- cases I saw some non-standard ascii character typed in the text. Therefore,
- I suspected that the problem has something to do with my keybhe procedure.
- I took it off, but the problem happened again.
- 3. Recently, I added a few tsrs to my autoexec.bat. I took them all off, but the
- problem stayed.
- Tomorrow, I may try reinstalling notabene. Still, it's now 1:10 am. I planned
- to substitute the current night for the lost day, my diskettes are locked
- somewhere else and looks like the ordeal isn't over!
