  13. So the EC is not only attacking German beer but English apples as
  14. well.  What are you people up to over there?  On our side the latest
  15. is an attempt to drown out Canadian beer with a flood of (God forbid!)
  16. Budweiser and Coors.  Not that Labatt and Molson have been producing
  17. much that's drinkable lately, but we do have some good local breweries
  18. that may well go under.  And George Bush gets all worked up because some
  19. of us think that real beer is more important than "free trade."

  21. Sorry if this is too political, but some things in life--like writing
  22. with Nota Bene and old apples and real beer--are pretty important.
  23. That's one good thing about this list: we are all really anarchists at
  24. heart, resisting standardization (except on our terms, of course).
