  12.  I am teaching a section of freshman composition making use of BBS for journal
  13.  entries (which will enable students to respond more freely to each others
  14.  thinking and writing), group presentations, peer review workshops,
  15.  bibliographies, and student conferences.  I will also post model essays and
  16.  university calendar events.  Students will be responsible for 2-3 writing
  17.  tasks per week on the Bulletin Board, and the computer-mediated writing will
  18.  account for 30% of their grade.  I am using a software package called PCBoard
  19.  which will run on a multi-user host computer dedicated to this pilot project.
  20.  Students are able to logon to the BBS from their dorm room computers or from
  21.  one of the university computer labs.

  23.  Since this is the first time I am integrating this kind of technology into my
  24.  classroom (the BBS will augment not replace classroom instruction by the way),
  25.  and since I am new to this list, I am hoping to receive some feedback about the
  26.  use of BBS in the composition classroom.  If anyone has any suggestions about
  27.  additional applications for the software, trouble-shooting, etc., please drop
