  30. In the fall, I will be one of 3 "librarians" for a small reading
  31. room (> 2000 books and journals) for a Humanities department
  32. in my university.  I've been asked to put the card catalog and
  33. "check out system" onto a database.  (The room has  a Mac and
  34.  an IBM.)
  35.  
  36. Could anyone suggest appropiate database software for this?  I've
  37. used excel a little, but I'm wondering if there might be something
  38. else available.
