  13. Is there anyone out there who is running a version of MVS/XA on an
  14. IBM 4381 class processor. If so, could you email me a copy of your
  15. IOGEN input file. It has been a while since I've dealt with 4381s and
  16. their unique hardware channel setup and an example of MVS defined on
  17. this hardware would certainly help. I can no longer receive NETDATA
  18. format files at this site, please place any examples you might send
  19. inside of an email message.

  21. We are considering using a 4381 in an academic computing center as a
  22. hotsite backup for our Administrative system currently resident on a
  23. IBM 3084. What I need to do is to define a MVS IOGEN in my current
  24. SYS1.NUCLEUS which I can switch to in the event that I need to bring up
  25. some portion of my MVS system on the 4381.

  27. How are other MVS sites dealing with the issue of the MVS IOGEN view of
  28. the processing environment in Disaster Recovery mode? The IOGEN and IOCP
  29. views have to agree for MVS to be able to exercise the hardware; you are
  30. in recovery mode and the recovery processor is a different processor
  31. type and all of it's peripherals are on different CHPID and different
  32. control unit addresses. Do you plan to re-wire and re-address the entire
  33. hotsite or do you keep a non-active IOGEN ready which will or hopes to
  34. match a given physical configuration in the intended hotsite?
