- Our university is in the process of putting their university catalog on-line
- using DEC's VTX software. The original intent when we started the project
- was to have only the current version of the catalog, that would be updated on
- a quarterly basis, online. Now, there has been interest expressed to keep
- the online catalog the same as the print catalog and to have multiple versions
- of the catalog accessible, e.g., 91-93, 93-95.
-
- Are any of you currently doing this? If so, have you encountered any problems
- that we should be aware of before we tackle this problem?
-
- In regards to keywords, we are starting to identify them. How extensive a
- listing have you developed? Did you use the Index as the basis for starting?
- Who did you have identify the words? Also, is anybody using DECs new VTX Text
- Retrieval System which appears to not be limited to page assigned keyword
- searching. Any experiences in keywords would be greatly appreciated.
-
- Thanks for sharing the information.
