  14. I would like to add that the Birmingham CIS, in addition to allowing
  15. documents to be located in more than 1 Menu, also allows (Further) Menus
  16. to be located in more than 1 Menu.

  18. To assist callers in re-tracing their footsteps thru the data tree, our
  19. system allows them, from any Menu excpet the Main Menu) to return to either
  20. the Parent Menu or the Previous Menu. (The latter, in general, is not
  21. the same thing as the former.)

  23. If you want to retrace your steps, it is recommended that you always use
  24. the command to select the Previous Menu. In fact, this is the default
  25. command (which you get by simply hitting RETURN) when you are sitting on a
  26. Menu (other than the Main Menu).

  28. This is also useful where a caller has `jumped over' a number of Menus en
  29. route to some Menu deep down in the data tree. Using Previous Menu jumps back
  30. without (again) displaying Menus en route.

  32. Having moved onto the topic of tree navigation, CWIS-L readers may be
  33. interested to know that on our system you can `tag' a menu and `jump' to
  34. it from anywhere within the data tree. Rather like sticking your thumb in a
  35. book to mark your place! Currently only one thumb can be used!
