- Hi! I'm in a situation in which I know what I need to do, but
- getting motivated to do it is hard. I'm studying for my comprehensive
- exams for Oct. in Russian history. So far I have been able to get work
- done, but now I am stuck. I have to read a big section on Soviet history
- and I loathe it. I find it boring, useless ( I do medieval Russian
- history), and I have had bad experiences with Soviet history classes and
- profs. I know and use most of the studying skills that involve breaking
- tasks down, goals, rewards, but I feel they aren't helping much. I need
- to pass this exam to go on with my Ph.d, but my motivation is low.
- Everyone I know likes this period and can't understand where I'm coming
- from. I'd like some feedback from anyone who has been in a similar boat.
- Thanks,
- Valerie
