  14. Subject line says it all, really but I'll expand.  Is it possible to
  15. have items in the menubar (in Lucid Emacs 19.2.1) that don't have a
  16. pull-down menu attached to them and respond to a simple mouse click,
  17. rather like buttons?  If that sounds a strange thing to have, imagine
  18. that the items are not represented by alphanumeric characters but by
  19. "symbols" and execute functions for which it would not make sense to
  20. group them together.
