  27. Those people who experience these problems should hassle the vendor of
  28. the machine they are using to fix the problem (its a kernel problem).

  30. For those on SunOS machines, check with your admin to see if they applied
  31. the patches from the last CERT notice which delt with this problem.

  33. But that only solves the problem at one end...and the link can be told to
  34. close on most OS's at any time of day whether it has been up for hours or
  35. minutes.

  37. For those who are IRCing from machines running server versions later than
  38. 2.7.2b, ask your server admin if they have a unix socket setup to allow
  39. client connections and use that (requires patches to 2.1.5 clients for
  40. this, however).
