  4. To unpack the archive use the PKUNZIP program - type 'pkunzip -d pcrob14'
  5. as several subdirectories are used.
  6.  
  7. To contact the author via email use one of these addresses:

  12. Alternatively, you can talk to him in the 'crobots' conference on
  13. CIX in the UK. Type 'join crobots' at the CIX 'Main:' prompt, and
  14. look in the 'pcrobots' topic. This topic will usually be read
  15. several times a day.
  16. To join CIX, call 081 390 1244 (up to 2400 baud) or 081 390 1255
  17. (up to V32bis/V42bis) with your modem and register online
  18. (2.40ukp/hour off-peak). If you have Internet access, you can now
  19. Telnet cix.compulink.co.uk (same fees).

  21. On Compuserve, the best area to discuss this is probably
  22. IBMNEW/Gen_Fun_and_games. However, due to financial reasons, the
  23. author probably won't be able to log onto CI$ more than once or
  24. twice a week, so urgent messages should be sent to him at the CIX
  25. address (mail to '>INTERNET:psmithb@cix.compulink.co.uk').

  27. On USENET, the best area is probably rec.games.corewar, as this
  28. seems to be where programming type games are discussed. This
  29. newsgroup will usually be read every day or two (as will mail to
  30. paul@wolf.demon.co.uk).

  32. PASCAL
  33. =======
  34. I'm not a Pascal programmer, so there may be errors/omissions in the
  35. Pascal libraries - I'll be welcome to make any modifications as
  36. necessary. It's hard for me to test these files as I only have access
  37. to TP 5.5 which is a bit out of date...

  39. PCROBOTS.PAS is a unit written in Pascal (by me)
  40.  
  41. PCROBOT6.PAS is a unit written in inline assembler, by Russell Dittmar
  42. (70624.564@compuserve.com). Additions for later functions have been
  43. added by me.

  45. BASIC
  46. ======
  47. The .BAS and .BI files are for compiled QuickBasic. As I (again)
  48. don't have this compiler I've relied on someone else for these files.
  49. (The author in this case is pclements@cix.compulink.co.uk).

  51. Because I don't write the basic files, they may be out of step
  52. with the C and Pascal files (but hopefully not by too much).
