- allows a new project to be created, or an existing project to be updated. There
- are no restrictions on the format of the project code, except for a maximum
- length of 50 characters. Shorter codes are preferred.</FONT></P>

- By marking the project as accessible to the public, the login screen will offer a link to a user signup screen.
- Anybody with access to the web server will be able to create a user id and review the project's issues.

- A public project must indicate what group public users should be treated as belonging to.
- The group controls what actions a public user can perform based on the workflow configuration.
- Indicating that public users will be treated as members of the QA group means that anything a QA user can do a public user will also be able to do.

- Depending on your project's security requirements it may be advisable to restrict what a public user is allowed to do within a project.
- By defining a new group and updating the workflow configuration you can prevent public users from creating issues or having issues routed to them.
- </P>
- <P><FONT class=box size=2>The project
- team identifies which users are allowed to create or update issues
- for the project. Only team members can view, create or update issues, except for a
- site administrator who has full access to all projects.</FONT></P>
- <P><FONT class=box size=2>If a team member is identified as "Override Workflow"
- then the workflow rules are not enforced for this user. The team member can
- assign any issue to any other team member regardless of the workflow
- configuration. Note that the "states" (resolution and status codes combinations)
- defined by the workflow will always be obeyed. The "override workflow" setting
- only affects the assignment of the resolution and status codes (data validation still take place). This should only be used rarely. </FONT></P>

- leads identify which team member will receive issues that are assigned
- "automatically". When a team member reassigns an issue and chooses "automatic"
- the issue will be routed to the appropriate team leader. The workflow
- configuration controls which groups are appropriate for a given reassignment. All
- groups must have a leader. Each group leader is automatically a member of the project team.</FONT></P>
