-
- - This Program Is Freeware! -
-
- GlyphThis is a little utility designed to enable you to pick items out of
- clipart fonts (such as Wingdings), because let's face it, Character Map is not
- much help in this area! It's also a great help if your eyesight is going!
-
- Usage:
- Run GlyphThis, pick a font from the drop-down list of all the available fonts
- on your PC, choose a size and press Return or click on the Draw button
-
- If any of the boxes appear totally blank when there should be something there,
- reduce the font size option and redraw, or just resize the damned window and
- all the character boxes will stretch to fit!
-
-
- If you see a character you want, just point your mouse at it and wait a second
- or so and a tooltip will pop up and indicate which character you're looking at.
-
- If the character is attached to a "normal" position such as can be typed on
- your keyboard normally, you will be shown what to type ('A', etc.)
-
- If the character is outside of the usual simple typing range, the tooltip will
- show "Alt+0xxx", where xxx is a number between 1 and 255 - to input this symbol
- just hold down the Alt key and type that number in on your numeric keypad
- (making sure Num Lock is on, and including the leading zero)
-
- If all else fails, select the character inside its individual textbox,
- right-click and choose Copy :-)
-
-
- Changing the Configuration:
-
- Normally, GlyphThis creates a 16x16 grid of boxes and fills them starting at
- the first character (a black "null" box in most fonts).
-
- While this is fine when you're working with clipart fonts, if you want to use
- GlyphThis to help you use accented characters you don't need to see all the
- other characters.
-
- Click on the CFG button to show the Config window - from here you can change
- the dimensions of the grid, and the first character used (the one to appear
- in the top-left box). The "First Character" textbox shares its Font and Size
- settings with the main grid, to make it easier to pick the right character.
- (NB. You type your choice of character in here as you would into any other
- program - see the details above)
-
- To return the config settings to normal, click defaults, then OK.
