- FLDRIVER.LST - Description file for Windows 2.xx Display Drivers
- =================================================================
- Written by Gerald Lukas - GCA mbh, D-7149 Freiberg/N. (FRG)
-
- Introduction
- ============
-
- The drivers described in this file are common Windows 2.x drivers that
- are shipped from Microsoft. If your display driver is not listed, the
- driver comes from the manufacturer of your display adapter or monitor.
- Check the software disks that came with your display and add information
- about the Windows driver in this file.
-
-
- Editing FLDRIVER.LST and Restarting the Installation
- ====================================================
-
- You can edit FLDRIVER.LST with any word processor or text editor. If
- another copy of Windows is already installed on your computer, you can
- use NOTEPAD.EXE.
-
- When you finish editing FLDRIVER.LST, save it as an unformateted ASCII
- text file and exit your word processor. Restart the INSTALL program
- from the DOS prompt by typing FLMENU <Enter>.
-
- NOTE : FLDRIVER.LST is a special file that is created during the first
- step of installation process and deleted after successful
- installation. So, your changes to FLDRIVER.LST will be deleted
- any time you call the program INSTALL.EXE from the DOS prompt.
- To avoid having to edit FLDRIVER.LST many times, make a copy under
- another file name, such as FLDRIVER.OWN. Then copy this file
- back to FLDIRVER.LST and restart the installation process from
- the DOS prompt by typing FLMENU <Enter>.
-
-
- Adding a Display Driver Description
- ===================================
-
- Use the following format to add a two-line description of your display
- driver to the end of the driver list :
-
- Line one : The driver name as you want it listed during installation,
- followed by an arrow and a number larger than 26.
- Make the arrow by typing twp minus signs, or hyphens, followed
- by a "greater than" sign (">").
-
-
- Line two : The number from line one in parantheses, followed by five
- filenames and the text string "%x%".
-
- The five filenames are located on a special Windows driver
- disk supplied by the display's manufacturer. The filenames
- include :
-
- - the display driver file (*.DRV)
- - the logo file (*.LGO)
- - the grabber file (*.GRB)
-
- and if the driver supports Windows /386 :
-
- - the EXE-file (*.3EX)
- - the 386-file (*.386)
-
- If the driver doesn't support Windows /386, substitute the
- last two filenames with two dots ("..").
-
-
- Examples :
- ==========
-
- Note : For technical reasons, the arrows in the example are made with
- equal signs instead of minus signs. Be sure to use 2 minus signs
- in the entry you insert for your driver.
-
- A sample description for a Windows /386 driver :
-
- Windows /386 with a Special Enhanced Driver ==> 27
- (27) SED.DRV SED.LGO SED.GRB SED.3EX SED.386 %x%
-
- A sample description for a Windows /286 driver :
-
- Windows /286 with a Super Featured ==> 27
- (27) SUPER.DRV SUPER.LGO SUPER.GRB . . %x%
-
-
- End of description text - now starts the Driver list:
- =====================================================
