  9. The drivers described in this file are common Windows 2.x drivers that
  10. are shipped from Microsoft. If your display driver is not listed, the
  11. driver comes from the manufacturer of your display adapter or monitor.
  12. Check the software disks that came with your display and add information
  13. about the Windows driver in this file.

  16.     Editing FLDRIVER.LST and Restarting the Installation
  17.     ====================================================
  18.  
  19. You can edit FLDRIVER.LST with any word processor or text editor. If 
  20. another copy of Windows is already installed on your computer, you can
  21. use NOTEPAD.EXE.
  22.  
  23. When you finish editing FLDRIVER.LST, save it as an unformateted ASCII
  24. text file and exit your word processor. Restart the INSTALL program 
  25. from the DOS prompt by typing FLMENU <Enter>.
  26.  
  27. NOTE : FLDRIVER.LST is a special file that is created during the first 
  28.        step of installation process and deleted after successful 
  29.        installation. So, your changes to FLDRIVER.LST will be deleted 
  30.        any time you call the program INSTALL.EXE from the DOS prompt.
  31.        To avoid having to edit FLDRIVER.LST many times, make a copy under 
  32.        another file name, such as FLDRIVER.OWN. Then copy this file
  33.        back to FLDIRVER.LST and restart the installation process from 
  34.        the DOS prompt by typing FLMENU <Enter>.

  37.     Adding a Display Driver Description
  38.     ===================================
  39.  
  40. Use the following format to add a two-line description of your display
  41. driver to the end of the driver list :
  42.  
  43. Line one : The driver name as you want it listed during installation,
  44.            followed by an arrow and a number larger than 26.
  45.            Make the arrow by typing twp minus signs, or hyphens, followed 
  46.            by a "greater than" sign (">").
  47.  
  48.  
  49. Line two : The number from line one in parantheses, followed by five
  50.            filenames and the text string "%x%".
  51.  
  52.            The five filenames are located on a special Windows driver
  53.            disk supplied by the display's manufacturer. The filenames
  54.            include :
  55.  
  56.             - the display driver file (*.DRV)
  57.             - the logo file (*.LGO)
  58.             - the grabber file (*.GRB)
  59.  
  60.             and if the driver supports Windows /386 :
  61.  
  62.             - the EXE-file (*.3EX)
  63.             - the 386-file (*.386)
  64.  
  65.            If the driver doesn't support Windows /386, substitute the 
  66.            last two filenames with two dots ("..").
  67.

  72. Note : For technical reasons, the arrows in the example are made with 
  73.        equal signs instead of minus signs. Be sure to use 2 minus signs 
  74.        in the entry you insert for your driver.
