- Help for IBM AntiVirus/DOS

- IBM AntiVirus/DOS can prevent, detect and remove computer viruses. It can
- work in the background, providing constant protection for your system. You
- can also use it directly to check diskettes or hard disks for viruses.

- Use the main window of IBM AntiVirus/DOS to check your system for viruses
- now, to check a diskette for viruses, to configure the way in which your s
- ystem is checked, to view logs generated during checks, or to view online
- help.

- When you have configured IBM AntiVirus/DOS to perform an automated check o
- f your system, it is not usually necessary to check it yourself in this wa
- y.

- Keys
- ____

- Navigation and selection of items within IBM AntiVirus/DOS can be done wit
- h your keyboard or with a mouse. The following keys can be used:
-
- TAB Moves between areas in a pop-up window.
- ARROW keys Move between items within an area of a pop-up window.
- SPACE BAR Selects the currently highlighted item.
- RETURN Selects the currently highlighted push button.
- ESC Exits the current pop-up window and returns to the previou
- s one.

- Select buttons by using the tab key to highlight them and then using the s
- pace bar to select them. Or, type the single highlighted letter on the but
- ton.

- To select an item with a mouse, simply click on it. To exit a pop-up windo
- w, click on the Close icon in the upper-left corner of the frame.

- You can use the keyboard or mouse to select items from the menu bar on the
- main window and other pop-up windows. To use the keyboard, press the F10
- key to move to the menu bar, the arrow keys to select an item, and the spa
- ce bar to select it. To select menu items with the mouse, simply click on
- them.

- The following keys can also be used from the main window to access some of
- the common functions of IBM AntiVirus/DOS. When two key names are joined
- by a plus sign (+), use these two keys together, by holding down the first
- key and pressing the second key simultaneously.

- ALT+C Check menu

- ALT+L Log menu
- ALT+S Setup menu
- F1 Context-sensitive help
- F3 Exit IBM AntiVirus
- F10 Move the cursor to the menu bar
- P Push here to check your system for viruses

- viruses now. The settings that are used can be seen by selecting the Check
- system menu item from the Check menu. When you have configured IBM AntiVi

- The cumulative log is kept in the file CUM.LOG in the directory where IBM
- AntiVirus/DOS was installed. This is a normal file that can be printed dir
- ectly on your printer. An entry is added to the cumulative log each time I
- BM AntiVirus/DOS does an automated check. It does not record checks that y
- ou do manually. You can edit or erase this log file if it grows too large.
