  3. Help for IBM AntiVirus/DOS

  6. IBM AntiVirus/DOS can prevent, detect and remove computer viruses. It can 
  7. work in the background, providing constant protection for your system. You
  8.  can also use it directly to check diskettes or hard disks for viruses. 
  9.  
  10. Use the main window of IBM AntiVirus/DOS to check your system for viruses 
  11. now, to check a diskette for viruses, to configure the way in which your s
  12. ystem is checked, to view logs generated during checks, or to view online 
  13. help.

  15. When you have configured IBM AntiVirus/DOS to perform an automated check o
  16. f your system, it is not usually necessary to check it yourself in this wa
  17. y.

  20. Keys

  23. Navigation and selection of items within IBM AntiVirus/DOS can be done wit
  24. h your keyboard or with a mouse. The following keys can be used: 
  25.  
  26. TAB             Moves between areas in a pop-up window. 
  27. ARROW keys      Move between items within an area of a pop-up window. 
  28. SPACE BAR       Selects the currently highlighted item. 
  29. RETURN          Selects the currently highlighted push button. 
  30. ESC             Exits the current pop-up window and returns to the previou
  31.                 s one.

  34. Select buttons by using the tab key to highlight them and then using the s
  35. pace bar to select them. Or, type the single highlighted letter on the but
  36. ton.

  38. To select an item with a mouse, simply click on it. To exit a pop-up windo
  39. w, click on the Close icon in the upper-left corner of the frame.

  41. You can use the keyboard or mouse to select items from the menu bar on the
  42.  main window and other pop-up windows. To use the keyboard, press the F10 
  43. key to move to the menu bar, the arrow keys to select an item, and the spa
  44. ce bar to select it. To select menu items with the mouse, simply click on 
  45. them.

  47. The following keys can also be used from the main window to access some of
  48.  the common functions of IBM AntiVirus/DOS. When two key names are joined 
  49. by a plus sign (+), use these two keys together, by holding down the first
  50.  key and pressing the second key simultaneously.

  128. ystem yourself. This is the recommended way of configuring IBM AntiVirus/D
  129. OS.

  172. irus check information generated by IBM AntiVirus/DOS. Use this option to 
  173. verify that automated checks were done as expected and to review whether a
  174. ny viruses were found.

  176. The cumulative log is kept in the file CUM.LOG in the directory where IBM 
  177. AntiVirus/DOS was installed. This is a normal file that can be printed dir
  178. ectly on your printer. An entry is added to the cumulative log each time I
  179. BM AntiVirus/DOS does an automated check. It does not record checks that y
  180. ou do manually. You can edit or erase this log file if it grows too large.
