- Use the Compact Disc application to play music compact discs (CDs). If a CD is
- not loaded in the CD-ROM drive, a graphic is displayed, prompting you to load a
- CD.

- After you load a CD, numbered buttons are displayed. The buttons represent
- tracks on the CD. To the left of the buttons are an integer and a
- minutes:seconds (MM:SS) value. The integer is the track currently selected for
- play, and the MM:SS value is the position in the track. For example:

- beginning. You can change the current track by selecting any of the track

- To play a track:

- o Select to start playing the current track.

- o Select to return to the beginning of the current track.

- o Select to select the next track in the play order.

- o Select to move forward gradually in the current track.

- When you first load a CD, track buttons are arranged in numerical order. The
- numbers indicate the track order on the disc. You can shuffle the tracks to
- create a new play order by selecting Shuffle Tracks on the Options Menu.

- You can disable a track by holding down the Shift key and selecting the track
- button. The track number is replaced by dashes, indicating the track is
- disabled. Select the button again to reselect the track.

- Select Edit Title to include a name for your CD in the window title. After you
- save the new window title, it is displayed whenever you load the CD.

- Some CD-ROM devices can cooperate with the computer to transfer digital audio
- data from a CD to an audio device installed in the computer. After processing
- the data, the audio device sends the data to its speaker jack. The sound
- produced can be of higher quality than the sound produced by connecting a
- speaker directly to the analog headphone jack.

- If your CD-ROM device can process data internally and you have an audio device
- installed in your computer, the Digital Transfer choice is available on the
- Options menu. Otherwise this choice is unavailable.

- Play only your favorite tracks by disabling the buttons of the tracks you do
- not want played. To disable a track button:

- 3. Click mouse button 1 to disable the track.

- Dashes replace the track button number, indicating the track is no longer
- selected for playing. To reselect the track, click mouse button 1.

- To change the Compact Disc position to the beginning of the track so it is the
- next one played, click mouse button 1 again.

- Tracks that are disabled when the disc is ejected remain disabled the next time
- the disc is played.
