- The Print Modes available with your printer may include:
- Black Only Color Only and Black and Color.

- Print Mode Description
-
- Black Only Prints using the black print cartridge.

- Color Only Prints using the color print cartridge only (HP
- DeskJet 500C and 550C). Black will be printed as
- a composite of colored ink.

- Black and Color Prints using both the color and black print
- cartridges (HP DeskJet 550C).

- Printing to the HP DeskJet 500C Printer

- If the currently installed print cartridge (black or color) does not match the
- selected Print Mode, the print carriage moves to the center position and the
- Change Cartridge light on the printer control panel blinks.

- To print at this point, you must insert the correct print cartridge and press
- the Print Cartridge button to return the print cartridge to it's "home"
- position, printing will continue. If the print cartridge is not changed in 5
- minutes, the print carriage returns to the "home" position and the Change
- Cartridge light continues to blink.
