- WORKSTATION SETUP
-
- This portion of the program is used to configure the workstation environment
- so that the PADS Program can be operated on a network.
-
- NOTE: You should take the time to read the Network Appendix of the Reference
- Manual before attempting to install a PADS Program on a network.
-
- YOU MUST INSTALL THE PADS PROGRAMS ONTO THE NETWORK FILE SERVER BEFORE YOU
- CAN PERFORM A WORKSTATION SETUP. IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, EXIT BACK
- TO THE MAIN MENU AND USE THE SOFTWARE INSTALLATION OPTION TO INSTALL THE
- SOFTWARE ONTO THE NETWORK FILE SERVER BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THE WORK-
- STATION SETUP.
-
- To select the PADS Program from the window, use the up and down arrow keys
- on the key pad to highlight the desired program, then press F1 to continue.
- In the windows that follow there will be separate setup instructions for
- each of the PADS Programs.
-
- The first window will describe the minimum requirements for operating the
- PADS Program on a network. Before operating the program on a network the
- workstation must meet these minimum requirements. You will then be prompted
- for the disk drive where DOS is presently installed.
-
- The next window will describe how to enter the path to the workstation's
- PADS Utility Directory. You will be required to enter the path and the drive
- letter of the server. A confirmation of your selections will be required
- before continuing with the WORKSTATION SETUP.
-
- The next few windows will prompt you to load the PADS Program files,
- training files, and library files onto the workstation.
-
- The next window will describe the modification required to the workstation's
- AUTOEXEC.BAT file to set the proper search path to the PADS Program on the
- network.
-
- After you have completed the WORKSTATION SETUP, it will be necessary to
- perform a HARDWARE SETUP for each of the PADS Programs that will be operated
- from the workstation.
