  1. README for NMS Information

  4. SNMP trap data is included with NetWare for SAA v1.3 Rev A so NetWare for SAA
  5. event messages are also displayed in the NetWare Management System (NMS)
  6. alarm monitor and alarm report.  To access this feature, perform the
  7. following tasks:

  9. Note: This procedure is not necessary if you have installed NetWare for SAA
  10. Services Manager v2.0 on your workstation.

  12. - Copy the CE.MIB and NWSAA.MIB files to the NMS\SNMPMIBS\TRAPMIBS directory
  13. on your NMS workstation.  The CE.MIB file is located in the \NMS directory on
  14. the Communication Executive installation diskette DISK5, and the NWSAA.MIB
  15. file is located in the \NMS directory on the NetWare for SAA installation
  16. diskette DISK3.
  17.  
  18. - From the NMS Tools Menu, access the SNMP Alarm Integrator and integrate the
  19. trap MIBs into the NMS system.
  20.  
  21. - To enable context-sensitive help from the NMS alarm report, copy the CE.HLP
  22. and NWSAA.HLP files to the NMS\Help directory on your NMS workstation.  The
  23. CE.HLP file is located in the \NMS directory on the Communication Executive
  24. installation diskette DISK5, and the NWSAA.HLP file is located in the \NMS
  25. directory on the NetWare for SAA installation diskette DISK3.

  27. - Add the network address of your NMS workstation to the Protocol IPX section
  28. of the TRAPTARG.CFG file on each server from which you wish the NMS alarm
  29. monitor and alarm report to receive NetWare for SAA event messages.  This file
  30. is located in the \ETC directory of the SYS volume.
