  1. ALTCAP Capture
  2. --------------
  3. ALTCAP is an alternate DOS capture utility you can use if you have had problems with 
  4. DOSCAP. This procedure only works if you have a VGA monitor.
  5.  
  6. How to use ALTCAP
  7. -----------------
  8. 1. After typing ALTCAP.EXE at the DOS prompt in the HJPRO directories, you will 
  9. have the following files:
  10. CAPTURE.EXE
  11. HJ02.EXE
  12. VGA.EXE
  13. HJ.SET
  14. FREEALT.COM
  15. ALTCAP.TXT
  16. 2. When you want to capture a DOS screen, either shell out or exit out of Windows.  
  17. Switch to the HJPRO directory.
  18. 3. At the DOS prompt, type CAPTURE. You will see a simple instruction screen. Note 
  19. the default hotkeys are Left Shift-Left Ctrl.

  21. WARNING: Do not run DOSCAP at the same time as you run this alternate capture procedure.
  22. 4. Run the application that has the screen you want to capture, and bring up that 
  23. screen. Press the Left_Shift-Left_Ctrl keys at the same time.
  24. 5. You will see a menu prompting you to select either Screen, or Printer. Use the arrow 
  25. keys to select, and press Enter.
  26. 6. You will hear a beep indicating that the Screen has been captured. At the Save 
  27. prompt, type the path and filename where you wish the captured file to be saved.  
  28. Press Enter.
  29. 7. You will return to the Screen or Printer menu.  When you are through capturing, 
  30. press Esc.  Your captured screens will be saved in PIX format in the directory that 
  31. you selected.
  32. 8. Use HiJaak PRO to convert the *.PIX file to another format.
