- You use the EPSON.SYS scanner driver with the Epson 300C, the
- Epson GT4000, the Epson GT6000, the Epson 300C for
- microchannel, the Epson GT4000 for microchannel, and
- Epson GT6000 for microchannel.

- To manually add the device driver to your CONFIG.SYS, use a text
- editor to type the entry as it appears below. Be sure to
- include a path if the scanner driver is not in your root
- directory. Remember to include additional parameters when
- necessary.

- CONFIG.SYS entry:

- For the Epson 300C,
- Epson GT4000, and
- Epson GT 6000 device=EPSON.SYS

- For the Epson 300C
- for microchannel,
- Epson GT4000 for
- microchannel, and
- Epson GT6000 for
- microchannel: device=EPSON.SYS /M

- Available port addresses and the parameters you should add
- to your CONFIG.SYS entry:

- For the Epson 300C,
- Epson GT4000, and
- Epson GT 6000 Port 278H (LPT2) The default for this
- scanner. Add /L2
- to your CONFIG.SYS.
- LPT2 must be available.
- Port 378H (LPT1) Add /L1 to your CONFIG.SYS.
- LPT1 must be available.

- For the Epson 300C
- for microchannel,
- Epson GT4000 for
- microchannel, and
- Epson GT6000 for
- microchannel: Attach the scanner to the parallel port
- on the PS/2 motherboard.

- For the Epson 300C, Default: low resolution
- 300C for microchannel, High resolution (select from 600,480, 320,
- GT6000 and 240, and 72 dpi): add the
- GT6000 for microchannel parameter /H to your CONFIG.SYS

- For the Epson GT4000 and Default: low resolution
- GT4000 for microchannel High resolution (select from 400, 320, 240, 180,
- 100, and 50 dpi): add the parameter
- /H to your CONFIG.SYS
- Settings supported by these scanners:

- Contrast Not supported by scanner
- Colors B&W, 256 gray scale, 256 color, 24 bit
- Halftones 3 options
- Resolutions See the options section above for supported resolutions
