  1. EPSON.SYS
  2.  
  3. You use the EPSON.SYS scanner driver with the Epson 300C, the
  4. Epson GT4000, the Epson GT6000, the Epson 300C for 
  5. microchannel, the Epson GT4000 for microchannel, and 
  6. Epson GT6000 for microchannel.
  7.  
  8. To manually add the device driver to your CONFIG.SYS, use a text 
  9. editor to type the entry as it appears below. Be sure to 
  10. include a path if the scanner driver is not in your root 
  11. directory. Remember to include additional parameters when 
  12. necessary.

  14. CONFIG.SYS entry:
  15.  
  16. For the Epson 300C, 
  17. Epson GT4000, and
  18. Epson GT 6000         device=EPSON.SYS
  19.  
  20. For the Epson 300C 
  21. for microchannel,
  22. Epson GT4000 for
  23. microchannel, and
  24. Epson GT6000 for 
  25. microchannel:         device=EPSON.SYS /M 
  26.  
  27. Available port addresses and the parameters you should add 
  28. to your CONFIG.SYS entry:
  29.  
  30. For the Epson 300C, 
  31. Epson GT4000, and
  32. Epson GT 6000        Port 278H (LPT2)  The default for this 
  33.                                        scanner. Add /L2 
  34.                                        to your CONFIG.SYS. 
  35.                                        LPT2 must be available.
  36.                      Port 378H (LPT1)  Add /L1 to your CONFIG.SYS. 
  37.                                        LPT1 must be available.

  39. For the Epson 300C 
  40. for microchannel,
  41. Epson GT4000 for
  42. microchannel, and
  43. Epson GT6000 for 
  44. microchannel:        Attach the scanner to the parallel port
  45.                      on the PS/2 motherboard.
  46.  
  47. Options
  48. For the Epson 300C,       Default: low resolution
  49. 300C for microchannel,    High resolution (select from 600,480, 320, 
  50. GT6000 and                                240, and 72 dpi): add the
  51. GT6000 for microchannel                   parameter /H to your CONFIG.SYS
  52.  
  53. For the Epson GT4000 and  Default: low resolution
  54. GT4000 for microchannel   High resolution (select from 400, 320, 240, 180,
  55.                                           100, and 50 dpi): add the parameter
  56.                                           /H to your CONFIG.SYS
  57. Settings supported by these scanners:
  58.  
  59. Brightness     7 settings
  60. Contrast       Not supported by scanner
  61. Colors         B&W, 256 gray scale, 256 color, 24 bit
  62. Halftones      3 options
  63. Resolutions    See the options section above for supported resolutions
