  7. The CHS4000 scanner driver is a Revision 6 scanner driver 
  8. (see REV6.DOC for more information) that provides black and 
  9. white, gray scale and 24 bit color scanning for current 
  10. ZSoft products.  The CHS4000.EXE driver replaces the 
  11. "old format" CHS4000E.SYS scanner driver shipped with previous 
  12. ZSoft products.

  14. The CHS4000.EXE driver REQUIRES that the scanner hardware be 
  15. set up for interrupts. Previous ZSoft scanner drivers did 
  16. not require this.

  18. You can run CHS4000.EXE from your CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT, or
  19. other batch file. To manually add the device driver to your 
  20. CONFIG.SYS, use a text editor to type the entry as it appears 
  21. below. Be sure to include a path if the scanner driver is not 
  22. in your root directory. Remember to include additional parameters 
  23. when necessary.

  29. You may also need to add an application code parameter to the 
  30. CONFIG.SYS entry, depending on which program you are using. 
  31. If the parameter is omitted, the application will still work, 
  32. but may be missing some features. PhotoFinish does not require 
  33. an application code.

  43. PhotoFinish, Publisher's Paintbrush version 2.02 or higher, and 
  44. PC Paintbrush 5+ do not need an application code parameter.
