You can access the Help Index from the drop-down Help menu, but the context-sensitive online help discussed on page 6 and subsequently has not been implemented. Help will not be available on context-sensitive pop-up menus, nor in dialog boxes.
New Data Manager Button
A new button has been added to the Data Manager, which is discussed on Page 11 and elsewhere in the User Guide. To the right of the "Set selected cells as..." and "Display location of..." buttons is the "Scan Data Range" button. This button is used to scan text and data you've typed into the Data Manager matrix in order to assign tags to it. (When you import text and data, the Data Manager scans it automatically. Clicking on the Scan Data Range button scans the data using the same procedure. For a description of that procedure, and how to use it to make entering data more efficient, see "Working in Data Manager" in the CorelCHART Procedures chapter.)
OLE Support for Bitmaps, Fountain Fills, Vectors
Because of the limitations of the Windows Clipboard, which is the conduit for all Microsoft Object Linking and Embedding operations, OLE does not yet support linking or embedding of objects which contain CorelCHART-generated bitmaps, fountain fills, or vector graphics used for pictographs. This means that any CorelCHART file which is to be linked or embedded in a CorelDRAW or CorelSHOW file cannot contain fills comprised of bitmaps, fountain fills, or vector graphics. We're now working on a solution to this, which will be issued as a patch or maintenance release.
.DIF File Support
CorelCHART supports the .DIF, or Data Interchange Format, used by Excel to transfer data to VisiCalc.
Excel 4.0 Support
CorelCHART does not support the Microsoft Excel 4.0 file format. Data files generated in Excel 4.0 should be saved in the Excel 3.0 format for use in CorelCHART.
