  7.    products by the way the program 'looks' on the box and have been extremely 
  8.    disappointed - and have therefore wasted their money and (more important) 
  9.    time. Nobody in their right mind would purchase a car without test driving 
  10.    it first, or for that matter...purchase clothes without trying them on, so 
  11.    how can software vendors expect users to buy one of their products without 
  12.    first testing it? They will send copies of their software to large corpo-
  13.    rations to test but seem to forget there are also other users in the market 
  14.    willing to purchase their product if it meets their needs. This program is 
  15.    for evaluation only, if you like this product then go to your local computer 
  16.    store and purchase it, otherwise PLEASE do not USE or in anyway DISTRIBUTE 
  17.    this product! There are many advantages to purchasing this product including:

  19.    1) Technical Support: Software vendors set up technical support lines for 
  20.              the purpose of helping their registered users get the 
  21.              most out of the product and help with any bug concerns, 
  22.              etc. It is to your advantage to be able to use this 
  23.              (and the many features of the program).

  25.    2) Manuals:           Manuals are a very important part of a software package. 
  26.              No book or text file can replace the original manuals, 
  27.              which come with the product. This enables the user to
  28.                          get the most out of the package, especially with the 
  29.              very complex programs of today.

  31.    3) Upgrades:          With buying the original program, you are entitled to 
  32.              low priced or free upgrades to new versions, bug fixes, 
  33.              and 'enhancements'.

  35.    4) Legality:          Using a program without owning a registered copy is 
  36.              illegal.

  38.    5) Control Of The     When companies who create good products are supported, 
  39.       Industry         it reinforces the need for good products and helps the 
  40.              company continue to create more quality products. On 
  41.              the other hand, companies who create substandard
  42.                          products have two options; either improve their 
  43.              products or get out of the industry.

  45.    Until companies come up with a better way of allowing users to test their 
  46.    products before purchasing, 'checkout' GROUPs will continue to make 
  47.    available products for your testing. Companies recently have started to  
  48.    head in this direction and you can now return some products to the company  
  49.    if you are not completely satisfied (Norton, and a few others), but this 
  50.    does not remedy the situation as the refund/credit takes a long time to get 
  51.    processed and is a BIG hassle! We feel that under the current software 
  52.    industry standards of doing business, that evaluating software releases 
  53.    prior to actual purchase is still the best solution.
