  6. :2 Text Mode
  7. Text Mode is used to switch
  8. from graphics to text mode.
  9. This is normally used when
  10. "hot-keying" to a resident
  11. application eg. Borland's
  12. Sidekick. Use the F9 key to
  13. toggle between modes.
  14. :3 Labels On/Off
  15. Turns row/column labels on or
  16. off.  Labels are helpful when
  17. using the keyboard to jump to
  18. an icon by typing the row and
  19. column label.
  20. :4 Screen Saver
  21. Determines how many minutes of
  22. no keyboard or mouse activity
  23. to wait before turning the 
  24. screen off to avoid "burning"
  25. the monitor.  Range is from 1
  26. to 99, or use 0 to disable.
  27. :5 Mouse Speed
  28. Adjusts cursor speed to mouse
  29. movement.  Options are Slow,
  30. Normal, and Fast.
  31. :6 Set Colors
  32. Toggles through several pre-
  33. defined color combinations.
  34. :7 Create Icon
  35. Used to add a new icon to the
  36. screen.  This can be either a
  37. sub-menu icon or an appli-
  38. cation icon.  See also RAM
  39. usage, Icon Text, and Icon
  40. Commands.
  41. :8 Use Password
  42. Determines what type of pass-
  43. word will be assigned to an 
  44. icon.  Option are-
  45. - no Access (requires password 
  46.   to run run or modify icon)
  47. - no Modify (can run icon but
  48.   requires password to modify)
  49. - None (removes password)
  50. :9 RAM Usage
  51. COUNTERPOINT normally runs 
  52. programs while staying in mem-
  53. ory.  If an application needs 
  54. alot of RAM, select N and 
  55. COUNTERPOINT will clear itself
  56. from RAM before running that
  57. application.
  58. :10Alt Key
  59. Assign a character (A-Z) to an
  60. icon that will launch the icon
  61. when used with the ALT key.  A
  62. beep means that character is 
  63. in use for this menu.
  64. :11Delete Icon
  65. Removes an icon from the 
  66. screen.  If you are removing
  67. a sub-menu icon, it cannot 
  68. contain other icons- delete
  69. them first.
  70. :12Icon Text
  71. This text will appear on the
  72. default icon shape.  Use up 
  73. to 10 characters per line.  
  74. Text automatically centers.
  75. :13Icon Commands
  76. Enter the commands that would 
  77. be used to run the application
  78. from DOS eg. CD \GAMES
  79.              CHESS

  81. :14Password
  82. Used to change an existing 
  83. password or to enter a pass-
  84. word for the first time after
  85. selecting the "Use Password"
  86. option.
  87. :15Appearance
  88. Standard icons have only 2
  89. shapes- a file-folder shape for
  90. sub-menu icons, and a clipped-
  91. corner box for application 
  92. icons.  Select Custom to modify
  93. the default shape.
  94. :16Analog/Digital
  95. Used to select the style of
  96. clock- analog or digital.
  97. :17Set Time
  98. Sets the DOS time clock, and 
  99. also then clock on the screen. 
  100. Use 24-hour time.
  101.  eg. enter 13:30 for 1:30 PM.
  102. :18Set Date
  103. Sets the DOS date, and also 
  104. the date on the clock.
  105. eg. 03/15/90 for March 15, '90
  106. :19Icon Selected
  107. Click twice to run this icon 
  108. or use the right mouse button 
  109. to drag it to a new location. 
  110. Go to the pull-down menus for
  111. more options.
