PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION TO ENSURE THAT YOUR SYSTEM
REQUIREMENTS ARE MET PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. FAILURE TO DO THIS MAY
RESULT IN POOR PERFORMANCE OR EVEN STOPPAGE OF YOUR MACHINE WHEN
YOU RUN THE INSTALLED APPLICATION.
Specifications for running "BBC 75 yrs" on a Windows PC
-Minimum IBM PC or compatible with 486 DXII processor running at
66 Mhz or better recommended.
-DOS 6.0 or higher running Microsoft Windows 3.1 or 95 with
5 megabytes of FREE & AVAILABLE RAM or greater
(Win 3.1: 8 megabytes total RAM is a minimum,
Win 95: 16 megabytes total RAM is recommended).
-A double-speed CD-ROM drive or higher.
-An MPC2 compatible sound card, Sound Blaster 16 or equivalent.
-A SuperVGA display card supporting 256 colours in 640x480 mode.
-QuickTime 2.1.2 or above (QuickTime 2.1.2 is provided on this CD).
Performance may be poor on a machine with less than 5 megabytes of
FREE RAM. Please attempt to free up as much memory as possible
before running the application.
Utilize Virtual Memory under Windows to help improve performance
for machines with less memory.
PLEASE QUIT ALL OTHER WINDOWS APPLICATIONS BEFORE STARTING
For best results, please quit any other applications that may be
running (such as word processors, databases, etc.).
HOW TO RUN APPLICATION:
For Windows 3.1 or 3.11 for Workgroups Users:
Double click the 'Win31.exe' located on the CD-ROM. The installer
will then place an application on your hard disk (950K).
If you haven't got QuickTime 2.1.2 or above you will need to install
QuickTime on your PC. You will find the installers located in
the 'QTWin' folder on the CD-ROM. Double click on the 'QT16.EXE'
then follow the on-screen instructions provided.
You can run the application from within the BBC 75yrs program-group.
For Windows '95 Users:
Double click the 'Win95.exe' located on the CD-ROM. The installer
will then place an application on your hard disk (1.4Mb).
If you haven't got QuickTime 2.1.2 or above you will need to
install QuickTime on your PC. You will find the installers located
in the 'QTWin' folder on the CD-ROM. Double click on the 'QT32.EXE'
then follow the on-screen instructions provided.
You can run the application from the Start menu under Programs in
the "BBC 75yrs" folder.
Note:
-If you have 8 MB of RAM make sure that you have Virtual Memory
switched on.
-If you are running Windows 3.1, make sure that 32bit File Access
is switched on before you start.
