  7. The 1541P.COM file is a slightly patched version of the 1541.COM program
  8. (1541 file handler & full disc copier from controll R.T & DADA/TSI).
  9.  
  10. The reason for the patch was that 1541.COM needed a PC with a CPU speed
  11. of about 8 MHz, and neither of my PC:s does that speed. So I made this
  12. small "improvement" to the program. The improvement is that the program
  13. will (hopefully) work on any PC, regardless off the CPU speed.
  14. This means that you don't need to 'fine tune' the computers speed with
  15. GOSLOW.COM in order use 1541P.COM.

  17. I have tested the program on my PC:s, a 386SX 16MHz, a 386DX 40MHz
  18. (28 and 40 MHz) and a 486DX2-66 (33 and 66 MHz), and it works on all
  19. three of them (all five different speeds).
  20. I have not tested it on any 8088 or 286 based systems but there should
  21. not be any problem with these (a slow 8088 based XT might have some
  22. problems due to the relatively long instruction times, I don't know).

  35. The MAP.COM program is not updated to work with any CPU speed, it is
  36. the original program so it must be used together with the GOSLOW
  37. program.

  41. mail and I will try to fix it.

  44. author (see README.TXT).
