This cursor helps you find your position in a long formula.</help:help-text> The respective formula component, where the cursor is positioned in the Commands window, is marked with a thin border in the text window. The cursor can only be called using the main toolbar.</help:to-be-embedded>

In the Commands window, move the cursor through the formula text. A small rectangle appears in the text window framing the current position. This only works with characters displayed in the text window. For example, size indicators are not affected by the formula cursor because they are not displayed in the text window, but rather only the character they refer to. Here are some typical examples to illustrate how this works:

All placeholder components are selected.

You can also click a certain component in the text window; the cursor will then jump to the appropriate position in the command window. This functionality is especially useful when you try to quickly find the correct position in the command window when editing very long formulas.

Double-clicking a character in the text window will accelerate the search for a certain position in the command window. In this case, the appropriate formula character is not marked by the cursor but rather selected, which is easier to see.
