<p class="Paragraph">An example for a non-breaking dash would be company name A-Z. In this case, you clearly do not wish that the A- is at the end of a line and the Z at the beginning of the next. Instead of a dash (-) enter a similarly looking special character ((<span class="T1">Insert - Special Character</span>).</p>

<p class="Paragraph">If you wish to support automatic hyphenation by entering a separator inside a word yourself, use the <help:switch select="System" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="MAC">(command)</help:case><help:default>(Ctrl)</help:default></help:switch> key combination and the minus character. The word is separated at the end of the line at this position even if automatic hyphenation for this paragraph is switched off.</p>
