<p class="Paragraph">To create a template from a document, choose <help:link Id="65671" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">File - Templates - Save</span></help:link>.<help:switch select="Program" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="WRITER"> To include Styles from a certain document in the active document, choose <help:link Id="67743"><span class="T1">Format - Styles - Load</span></help:link>. To copy or move Styles from one document to other templates or documents, choose <help:link Id="67722"><span class="T1">Format - Styles - Catalog</span></help:link>.</help:case></help:switch></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">The name of the Style is displayed here.</help:help-text> When you create a new Style, you can enter a name with up to 256 characters, numbers and special characters. If the name you specify is already in use, a message will appear.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:switch select="Program" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="WRITER"><help:help-text value="visible">If you mark this box, Paragraph and Frame Styles are automatically updated when an object is modified. This has the same result as the <help:link Id="67624" Eid="vorlageakt"><span class="T1">Update Style</span></help:link> icon in the Stylist.</help:help-text></help:case></help:switch></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click in the combo box and select the desired next Style.</help:help-text> By default, the active Style is selected. For Paragraph Styles, the next Style is automatically inserted in the document after pressing Enter. If you wish to modify the format later, this must be done manually. For Page Styles, the next Style is automatically applied to each new page. This option is only available for Paragraph and Page Styles.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Select a Style from the list box which contains the attributes you want to base a new Style on.</help:help-text> This function is not available for Page Styles.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Here you will see the Style category to which the current Style is assigned.</help:help-text> When you create a new Style, click in this field and choose a category for the active Style. You should save user-defined Styles under the Custom Style entry in order keep them separate from the rest.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This field displays the current settings of the selected Style.</help:help-text></p>
