<p class="Paragraph">To use custom templates that are not found in OpenOffice.org/user/template folder, you must first import the template. Open the <help:link Id="65871" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">Organize Template</span></help:link> dialog, by choosing <span class="T1">File - Templates - Organize</span>, then choose the <span class="T1">Import Template</span> menu command found in the submenu of the <span class="T1">Commands</span> button. Templates selected thus are transferred to the default folder for templates.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">The <help:link Id="66242" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">document templates</help:link> listed under the <span class="T1">Templates</span> list box in the <span class="T1">New</span> dialog are organized in the OpenOffice.org/share/template/english folder. You can view and modify the paths for the document templates under <span class="T1">Tools - Options... - General - Paths</span>. By entering various paths, each user in an Intranet, for example, can access the common templates (in...share...) and yet still use their local private templates (in... user...).</p>
