- C A S C O V E R (Version 1.0)
-
-
- CASCOVER was written to provide a way of labeling cassette tapes.
-
- It prints `three fold' cassette tape insert covers, which fit over the
-
- tape liners provided with the tape. These covers provide for increased
-
- amounts of information, better readability and uniformity among your
-
- tape collection.
-
-
- CASCOVER will print from one to four covers on a single piece of
-
- 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper. The number of covers printed is controlled
-
- by the person performing the data entry. Data entry is controlled by
-
- two screens. The first screen accepts information lines for the first
-
- `fold' and the second `fold'. The first `fold' is the one on the front
-
- of a cassette tape box, and the second `fold' is the one on the bottom
-
- of a cassette tape box (the second `fold' is where most people usually
-
- list the artist/album titles). The second screen accepts information
-
- lines for the third `fold'. The third `fold' is on the back of a tape
-
- box, and contains the contents information lines for Side A and B.
-
-
-
- SPECIAL NOTES:
- -------------
-
- 1). The printing of the covers is accomplished by setting a dot matrix
-
- printer to Condensed Print Mode (136 characters per line), and
-
- eight lines per inch. This is done by the program the first time
-
- it actually begins to print covers, and stays in effect until the
-
- program is terminated. At termination time the printer is reset
-
- back to its `power up' default settings.
-
-
- 2). The print codes sent to the printer are standard EPSON dot matrix
-
- print codes. I can not ensure that these codes are compatible
-
- with other brand name printers.

-
-
- 3). If you are using a daisy wheel printer, you will have to load a
-
- font wheel which corresponds to the settings specified in `1).'.
-
-
- 4). The page alignment was set to my printer (EPSON - FX100). When
-
- set correctly, the right most `cut line' and the left most `cut
-
- line' print just outside of the corresponding perforation lines.
-
- This reduces the amount of cutting that must be done before using
-
- the covers. The setting I use is pushing the left paper tractor
-
- to its right most position (the print head, when fully returned
-
- should be almost directly over the tractor holes of the left
-
- perforation tear strip).
-
-
- 5). Also regarding paper alignment, if the above settings are correct,
-
- and three or four covers are printed, the paper will skip to the
-
- top of the next page, before printing more covers. This allows
-
- the covers to be aligned when multiple pages are printed, thereby
-
- making it possible to busrt the pages and cut all covers at one
-
- time.
-
- I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT THE FIRST TIME YOU USE CASCOVER, PRINT TWO
-
- TO FOUR SAMPLE COVERS TO HELP DETERMINE YOUR PRINTER ALIGNMENT.
-
-
-
- That's about it. The program is very easy to use and is self
-
- explanitory. I hope it can be of some use to you.
