  3. a programmable Voice/Fax/Data machine

  7. This release 1.0.6 is an update version of the release 1.0.4
  8.

  10. These are the most important improvements:
  11. •    The fax printer, dialer and call archive can now be used public.
  12. •    You can manage roles for use in a network.
  13. •    You can configure a page header for outgoing faxes.
  14. •    The call archive can be sorted for any item.
  15. •    Some more modems will work together with this version.
  16. •    Lines without a dial tone can now be handled.
  17. •    Caller ID detection can now be handled (interesting may be only for US people).
  18. •    Command line faxing.
  19. •    You can execute a command in the background by adding '&' to an exec command
  20.     in the AML program.

  24. What is OlafAM ?
  25. ----------------
  26. You can:
  27.     telephone like before. OlafAM.app can dial for you.
  28.     
  29. configure the behavior of the answering machine for your own purpose.
  30.     You can play messages, reading digits entered by the caller, and invoke
  31.     actions depending on the results of this input.
  32.     You are able to listen to recorded voices from a remote place, and you
  33.     can leave a message for friends.
  34.     You are able to build a "Fax On Demand" machine.
  35.     Received calls can be delivered to your mailbox, and a simple doubleClick
  36.     will play it.

  53. Requirements

  55. This software is built with white NS3.3 and tested on white, black ('040) and yellow
  56. NS3.3. It will probably also run on green computers and on computers running OpenSTEP 4.x.

  75. People who help me to support a modem, which does not work together with this
  76. software, will get a free permanent licence.

  81. If no licence string is entered, this package will run in demo mode. That means:
  82. •    Incoming voices are limited to 4 seconds.
  83. •    Regarding digits entered by caller disabled.
  84. •    Incoming faxes are disabled.
  85. •    Outgoing faxes are limited to 1 page.
  86. •    Incoming data calls are limited to 1 minute.

  88. You can order a licence for 10 days for free, which enables all functions.

  90. You can order a permanent licence for each feature, either voice or fax or data

  103. Answering machine programs
  104. --------------------------
  105. Answering Machine programs will be written in the language
  106. "AnsweringMachineLanguage" (AML).
  107. It is simple and sufficient for (nearly) all cases, i can imagine.

  109. You can have as many programs as you like.
  110. So you are able to configure your telephone today as a private machine and
  111. tomorrow as a fax-on-demand machine.

  115. The most important improvements of release 1.0.4:
  116. •    Some more modems will work together with this version.
  117. •    German and (almost) French localization.
  118. •    A Fax reader similar to the Voice reader (or listener).
  119. •    Incoming data calls should be handled with more gracefulness.
  120. •    Addressbook implementation now cooporates with the WorkSpace.
  121. •    Addressbook and Dial Logbook can be printed.
  122. •    Incoming voice calls can be listened without be logged in
  123.     (if you have a D/V button like ZyXEL modems).
  124. •    ZyXEL's voice format ADPCM4 can now be used (but does it improve the voice quality?).
  125. •    The field "eMail" in the addressbook can now be used to compose a mail.
