  6. to the professional market, is proud to release the latest free beta version 
  7. of RadicalNews. RadicalNews is an advanced object-oriented newsreader, 
  8. designed for the discriminating NEXTSTEP marketplace.

  10. RadicalNews 0.9.1 provides MIME compliant USENET news reading and posting and in-line image displaying of both MIME images and "ordinary" UUENCODED images.  Non-image binary data is displayed as an icon and launched on a double-click.  To display images other than tiff, you will need to install an appropriate image filter such as OmniImage or ImageViewer.

  45. IMAGE DISPLAYING:

  47. -  UUENCODED or BASE64 images are now displayed in-line if the entire image is
  48.     contained within one post.
  49. -  Drag and Drop Images -- Images can be dragged from the news display
  50.     directly, or launched into your favorite image application with a
  51.     double-click.
  52. -  Images are automatically removed on Follow-ups, email forwards, or 
  53.     email replies and replaced with "[***<Image Removed>***]".

  55. PROBLEMS FIXED:

  57. -  Find panel now works properly with MIME and "ordinary" articles.
  58. -  Article headers are now decoded properly when archived.
  59. -  "Post and Reply" now encodes email into the character set indicated in 
  60.     the Post Viewer window.

  62. KNOWN PROBLEMS:

  64. -  Printing news articles with embedded images does not print the image.
  65.    (Work-around:  double-click on the image and print it from an image viewer).
  66. -  Text viewer does not scroll horizontally when image exceeds right text
  67.     boundary
  68.     (Work-around:  double-click on the image to launch it into an image
  69.         viewer).

  71. RadicalNews is built quad-fat, running on Motorola, Intel, Sparc, and HP 
  72. platforms with NEXTSTEP 3.2 or later. (NEXTSTEP 3.0/3.1 will work, but are 
  73. not supported.)  The J version requires NEXTSTEP-J.  The beta version is 
  74. free, and will run until December 31, 1997. After the beta period, a license 
  75. may be purchased. The beta version may be available via anonymous ftp at:
