  7. Version 1.13 of BusLogic Family SCSI Adapter Device Driver for NEXTSTEP

  10. OVERVIEW:

  12. BusLogic Family SCSI adapter device driver lets you take advantage of
  13. the following SCSI adapters:
  14. Manufacturer    Adapter PC Bus
  15. Bus Logic       445S    VL-Bus
  16. Bus Logic       747S    EISA
  17.  
  18. The driver replaces the NeXT's universal  Adaptec154xDriver on mentioned
  19. cards. Driver uses 32-bit addressing mode, therefore the disk performance
  20. is a little bit better on computers with more than 16 MB RAM.  The
  21. increase of the performance is according to DrivePerformance.app about
  22. 8% on 486DX2/66 with 32 MB RAM and 1.2 GB TOSHIBA MK538FB SCSI-2 drive.

  39. The BusLogicFamily is shareware. You can freely distribute without
  40. changing or removing any parts of the package. If you found the driver
  41. reliable, please, register the driver. For more detail see document
  42. Registration.rtf in the package.

  44. Changes between version 1.0 and 1.13:
  45. 1. The driver was tested and works with these version of firmware
  46.  on BT445S:
  47.  3.31C, 3.36, 3.37.
  48. 2. The driver was tested and works with these version of firmware
  49.  on BT747S:
  50.  3.37.
  51. 3. The driver works correctly with Toshiba XM-3401 CD-ROM and
  52.  CDPlayer.app. The only thing you need is a program called XAmode,
  53.  which switch TOSHIBA to XAmode. This also enables you to read
  54.  KodakPhotoCD. XAmode is available from anonymous ftp
  55.  ftp.uni-stuttgart.de:/pub/systems/next/Tools .
  56. 4. Better timeout handling.
  57. 5. Copying policy of the driver was changed from freeware to
  58.  shareware.
  59. 6. The name of the driver was changed from BusLogicBT445S to BusLogicFamily.

  61. Release 1.13 notes:
  62. 1. The BusLogic BT946C PCI card does not work yet. :-(
