- 2.[Installing and UnInstalling WarGames]

- - Insert the WarGames CD
- - Select "Install WarGames"

- If the AutoPlay screen does not appear:

- - Double-click on the "My Computer" icon
- - Double-click on your CD drive icon
- - Double-click on the Launcher icon
- - The installer will then guide you through the rest of Setup.
- - Click on the Shortcut in the Start Menu to Launch Wargames
- - If you do not have a 3D accelerator choose Software Rasterizer

- 5.[Unit Notes]

- Moving Slowly - Units are able to avoid mines by "Moving Slowly" through minefields.
- To accomplish this Right Click on your unit and select "Move Slowly"
- and then select a destination.

- Special Forces and Eliminator units cannot be seen by units or radar,
- unless close to a unit , if they are moving slowly.
-
- Return To Base - A base is where units go to be healed. Whenever you tell a unit to return
- to base they will go to the closest facility to heal themselves. Troops
- return to the Cloning Facility / Droid Manufacturer. Ships return to
- Harbors / Docks. Air Units return to Airfields / Hangars. Ground
- vehicles return to Repair Facilities.

- 7.[Launching Hardware Rendered WarGames]

- When launching WarGames choose the appropriate Rendering System for your computer. If your card
- uses one of the chipsets listed in the Profiles box make sure the Profiles box reflects that.
- Select Primary Display driver unless your card uses another driver such as 3DFX.

- 8.[Multiplayer Support]

- WarGames supports network play for up to 4 players
-
- IPX And TCP/IP support up to four players on a LAN
- Internet Play using Dialup TCP/IP for up to 2 players
- MPlayer support for up to 4 players
- Head to Head Modem/serial for 2 players
- 28.8 baud modem required for modem play

- 9.[Internet Play]
- Because of the unpredictablity of the Internet, 3 or more players Dial Up TCP/IP can be unstable.

- 10.[Multiplayer Rules]
- In MultiPlayer WarGames there can be only one player left standing. Alliances can be made, but to
- be the victor you must be the sole survivor.
-
- In Multiplayer, advanced units and buildings can only be built once a player has reached the proper Technology Level.
- Hackers / Agents are used to increase your technology level. They do this by performing a technology hack
- at your Command Center / Complex .

- Hackers / Agents can also be used to Upgrade your unit stats or Degrade your enemie's unit stats. They do this by performing
- and Upgrade / Degrade Hack at your Command Center / Complex. You can upgrade or degrade a Unit's Firepower, Speed, and Armor.

- 1 Wargames CD is required to play with up to 4 players.

- Should subsequent versions of WarGames be required all players in a multiplayer game must use
- the same version WarGames in order to play with each other.

- 11.[To Start A Network Game]

- - Left Click 'Multi' At The Main Menu
- - Enter Your Player Name and Choose 'Add Player'
- - Left Click Next
- - Select The Protocol your network uses
- - Left Click Next
- - Type In a Name For Your Game And Choose Create
- - Left Click To Choose The Map you want to play on
- - To Change your Hardware or Funds Click on Hardware or Funds column for your player
- - You may chat with other plays in the chat box at the bottom of the screen.
- - Left Click Ready when your set.
- - Left Click 'Start' to Start the game once everyone has clicked 'Ready'

- When creating a Modem To Modem game the player that starts the game receives the call from the
- other player.

- 12.[Technical Support]

- WarGames uses Microsoft's DirectX technology for sound and graphics. This means in order for
- WarGames to work properly your video and sound card drivers must be 100% DirectX compatible.
- If your computer is not equipped with DirectX 5 you may choose to install it from the
- WarGames CD or download them from the Microsoft Web Site at:

- You may need to update your drivers if the following symptons appear on your machine :

- - Sound seems to cut out during the game
- - Windows display becomes corrupted
- - Game display seems corrupted
- - Game crashes or hangs

- Should one of these symptons appear on your machine contact your video or sound card
- manufacturer to download the latest drivers for your hardware.

- It Is also important to not run WarGames while you are running any other Windows Programs.
- Try not to load too many TSRs as they can hamper performance.
