  11.   The "Artistic License"

  14.     Preamble

  16. The intent of this document is to state the conditions under which a
  17. Package may be copied, such that the Copyright Holder maintains some
  18. semblance of artistic control over the development of the package, while
  19. giving the users of the package the right to use and distribute the
  20. Package in a more-or-less customary fashion, plus the right to make
  21. reasonable modifications.

  26.     "Package" refers to the collection of files distributed by the
  27.     Copyright Holder, and derivatives of that collection of files
  28.     created through textual modification.
  29. Standard Version
  30.     "Standard Version" refers to such a Package if it has not been
  31.     modified, or has been modified in accordance with the wishes of the
  32.     Copyright Holder as specified below.
  33. Copyright Holder
  34.     "Copyright Holder" is whoever is named in the copyright or
  35.     copyrights for the package.
  36. You
  37.     "You" is you, if you're thinking about copying or distributing this
  38.     Package.
  39. Reasonable copying fee
  40.     "Reasonable copying fee" is whatever you can justify on the basis of
  41.     media cost, duplication charges, time of people involved, and so on.

  112.    7. C subroutines (or comparably compiled subroutines in other
  113.       languages) supplied by you and linked into this Package in order
  114.       to emulate subroutines and variables of the language defined by
  115.       this Package shall not be considered part of this Package, but are
  116.       the equivalent of input as in Paragraph 6, provided these
  117.       subroutines do not change the language in any way that would cause
  118.       it to fail the regression tests for the language.
  119.    8. Aggregation of this Package with a commercial distribution is
  120.       always permitted provided that the use of this Package is
  121.       embedded; that is, when no overt attempt is made to make this
  122.       Package's interfaces visible to the end user of the commercial
