- JUMPBALL v0.93 - April 14, 1998
- ===============================
- by Tasos Tzimorotas
-
- What's new in v0.93:
- - Improved gameplay (I believe the game is more interesting now)
- - Bugfixes in the 'steal' routine
-
- A. Description
- --------------
- Jumpball is a 1-on-1 basketball game for the PC's. You can score for 2 or 3, and the
- nearer you are to the basket, the more possible it is that you'll score. There are no
- fouls; once a player touches the other, he steals the ball.
-
- B. Options
- ----------
- At the beginning you can specify the options of the game.
- 1. Game Speed: It's more like a frame rate option.
- 2. CPU Skill: Specifies how fast the computer goes.
- 3. Winner's Outs: The one who scores, gets the ball.
- 4. Music & Sound: Turns the sound of the PC-speaker on/off.
- 5. Enter your name: Up to 6 letters allowed.
-
- C. Controls
- -----------
- You move using the cursor keys and you shoot with the right Ctrl. You may exit by pressing
- Esc while in game, or after the Stats screen at the end of a game.
-
- D. Requirements
- ---------------
- Anything, but an XT (286 required). The game is DOS-based, which means that it runs better under DOS.
- It also runs flawlessly under Windows 95.
- To run the game, type 'JUMPBALL' in the game directory, or double-click the 'JUMPBALL' file if
- you're using Windows.
-
- E. Troubleshooting
- ------------------
- -If you run JumpBall under Windows there might be a slight difference in speed, compared to
- the speed of the game when you run it under plain DOS.
- -If your hard disk is working while you run JumpBall under Windows, exit the game and
- defrag your drive.
-
- F. A few facts
- --------------
- OK, I know it's not a state of the art game, but I began writing it just to test the BGI
- library. At the end I came up with a complete game. I had no time for artwork, so I
- just borrowed the startup screen and the court picture from the "Double-Dribble" and
- "Dream Team" games. Any graphical contributions are most welcome. I almost forgot;
- JumpBall is "freeware", that is it must be distributed freely with all its files, including
- this document.
