  12. Installation
  13. ============

  15.     To install Amazeing, follow these steps:

  18.     Windows 3.1:
  19.     1) Copy all files to one directory, for example
  20.        C:\WINDOWS\GAMES\AMAZEING. 
  21.     2) Copy CTL3D.DLL to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory
  22.        if you wish. (Makes it accessible for any other
  23.        programs you might get that need it.)
  24.     3) Select the program group where you want to put
  25.        Amazeing. 
  26.     3) Choose "New" from the "File" menu in Program Manager
  27.        and select "Program Item".
  28.     4) Enter the program name "Amazeing", and path to
  29.        AMAZEING.EXE. For the previous example, this is
  30.        "C:\WINDOWS\GAMES\AMAZEING\AMAZEING.EXE". (Leave
  31.        out the quotes.)
  32.     5) Click Ok, and you'll see the icon appear.

  34.     Windows 95:
  35.     1) Copy all files to one directory, for example
  36.        C:\WINDOWS\GAMES\AMAZEING. 
  37.     2) Copy CTL3D.DLL to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory
  38.        if you wish. (Makes it accessible for any other
  39.        programs you might get that need it.)
  40.     3) Choose "Taskbar" from the "Settings" menu
  41.            found by clicking the "Start" button. Alternatively
  42.            click the right mouse button on the taskbar and
  43.            select "Properties..."
  44.         4) Click the "Start menu programs" tab at the top
  45.        of the dialog box that appears, then click the 
  46.        "Add..." button.
  47.         5) Enter similar details as step 4 for Windows 3.1.
  48.            Click the "Next" button, select the menu where you
  49.            want Amazeing to appear and click "Next" again.
  50.            Then type the name "Amazeing 5" and click "Finish."

  53. Special Notes and Requirements
  54. ==============================
  55.  
  56.     Amazeing 5 requires Windows 3.1 or above, and a colour
  57. display device, preferably a 256 colour one. Other than that,
  58. it should run on just about any machine. However, the faster
  59. the better, and to get a decent game play speed, you should
  60. use a 486 DX/66 with an accelerated video card.
  61.  
  62.     If the bitmap animation is too slow for your video card 
  63. (that is, the special way the larger bitmaps are displayed, 
  64. such as the About dialog box), manually edit AMAZEING.INI and
  65. change the value of the "AnimateBigBitmaps" line from "1" to "0".
