  6.    WHAT IT IS ABOUT

  9.    Welcome to HVACnet. HVAC, meaning Heating, Ventilating and
  10.    Air Conditioning, is a network for those who are involved in
  11.    construction, engineering, HVAC and refrigeration.

  13.    Many good networks are available to sysops offering .QWK based
  14.    mail to their users but none seem to offer conferences devoted
  15.    to those of us who are involved in these fields.
  16.  
  17.    Over the last year I have looked at quiet a few nets and find
  18.    but very few that are specialized in these fields. Granted the
  19.    audience for a net of this kind is likely small, it does exist.
  20.    The goal here is to get people in these fields talking to one
  21.    another and exchanging ideas and techniques in the service and
  22.    repair fields as well as business management.

  24.    HVACnet is small and will most likely will remain so since it
  25.    devoted solely to a specific group of people but that makes it
  26.    distinct, focused and defiantly manageable.

  28.    HVACnet is free to any sysop offering .QWK based mail. Whether it
  29.    be Wildcat, PC Board or any other BBS system, as long as it's mail
  30.    door exports a .QWK  compatible mail packet there should be no problem.

  32.    Currently, these conferences are available and cover the general
  33.    focus and intent of the net.

  37.    SHEETMETAL  Sheet metal trades.
  38.    RECOVERY    Cfc related topics.
  39.    ELECTRICAL  Electrical related topics.

  42.    PLUMBING    Plumbing related issues
  43.    Q&A         Open forum
  44.    NETADMIN    Network administration conference.

  49.    1.) A .QWK compatible mail door such as Tomcat or Qmail.
  50.    2.) A message import/export utility such as Tnet, used for Wildcat.
  51.    3.) Carry any or all of the conferences that may be of interest to you
  52.        or your users, that is your decision.

  65.    application form below as a message or comment to Craig Still.
  66.    When you are upgraded, same day in most cases, you will have
  67.    Netstatus under you regular name. No need for special names,
  68.    accounts and what have you. This is very straight forward and simple.
