- INTRODUCTION
-
- As much as I would like to offer unlimited toll-free support for
- any software I've ever had anything to do with, simple economics
- obviously don't allow me to do that.
-
- Still, I want to provide a mechanism for reaching me, and for
- providing some semblance of support. This document is intended
- to provide such information.
-
- COMMENTS - NO REPLY EXPECTED
-
- Comments are simply observations or remarks about my software.
- If you have flames, direct comments to the trash can and don't
- bother me with them. If you have constructive things to say or
- compliments about how my software has made your life better, you
- are welcome to send them via FidoNet or conventional mail.
- Please specify with your comments that no reply is expected.
-
- I reserve the right to reply at my own expense should I be
- inclined to do so.
-
- COMMENTS OR INQUIRIES - REPLY DESIRED
-
- Here's where things get tricky. You have several options.
-
- Although I never ask for money for my programs (unless otherwise
- noted), you can certainly send money if you want to cover the
- expense of handling your inquiries. A few dollars by mail will
- certainly motivate me to answer your inquiries in a timely manner
- by your preferred method (FidoNet or regular mail). Don't go
- overboard; if you send me one dollar and later send two dozen
- FidoNet messages each asking for a reply, don't expect one. For
- domestic calls, it costs me about $.25 for each message I send to
- you. Send money accordingly, and don't overtax my resources by
- sending frequent messages. Attempt to answer your own questions
- by reading the manual BEFORE sending inquiries.
-
- If you're satisfied with conventional mail, you're welcome to
- mail your inquiries along with a self-addressed, stamped
-

-
- envelope. Obviously this method will only work within the United
- States. If you're outside the United States, send money
- sufficient to cover postage.
-
- Finally, you can certainly call and leave a message on my BBS.
- There is a message area available specifically for the purpose.
- ALL users MUST be pre-registered. Complete registration
- information is available simply by calling the BBS directly, or
- you may send your name, mailing address, telephone number and
- desired password via FidoNet or regular mail. Make certain that
- you specify that you are requesting BBS access. Allow five (5)
- days for processing.
-
- SUMMARY
-
- Whichever method you choose (or if you choose to figure your
- problems out on your own) please try and understand my position.
- I am not independently wealthy. I am not a high-paid programmer
- or executive for a major corporation. Although $.25 isn't a lot
- of money, multiplied by several hundred users of my software it
- gets to be VERY expensive to offer free support.
-
- In addition, spending exorbitant amounts of time answering
- questions means I have even less of my precious time to spend
- improving my software packages and creating new ones.
-
- I have a life outside of FidoNet. If I don't get around to
- answering your questions in what you consider a timely manner,
- please be patient; I'm busy living my life.
-
- You didn't pay anything for the software. Please try and
- understand when it comes to paying for the support.
-
- Finally, voice telephone calls ARE NOT ACCEPTED. For some
- reason, my voice telephone number manages to get around once in a
- while, despite the fact that it's unpublished. I DO NOT ACCEPT
- VOICE CALLS REGARDING ANY FIDONET SOFTWARE, MY OWN OR SOMEONE
- ELSE'S. I will rudely hang-up on anyone who calls, and I will
- not return calls for messages left on my answering machine. NO
- EXCEPTIONS. This is an invasion of my privacy, plain and simple.
-
- THOSE ADDRESSES
-
- Specify the name of the software program you're asking about with
- your correspondence, and in the case of conventional mail, on the
- outside of your envelope as shown here.
